Denture reline

Denture Relines, If you are a current denture wearer, you know that the form-fitting attribute does not last forever.

After years of wear and use, dentures eventually become loose and require re-alignment. That’s because when you don’t have the protection of your natural teeth, bone begins to deteriorate and shrink over time. Bone loss can make your jaw line recede and change its natural shape. This bone loss and change in shape will continue as years go by, which will cause your denture to loosen and require re-alignment.

At Yorkshire Dental Group, we understand the importance a properly fit denture is to your self-esteem and well being. That’s why we recommend having your denture re-aligned every two years. Our expert re-alignment service is designed to take loose uncomfortable dentures and make them feel great again.

We start by removing some of the plastic from the inside of the denture and filling the denture with a soft material which, when replaced in the mouth, conforms to the contours of the tissues and then hardens to a rubbery consistency. When the denture is removed, it contains an accurate impression of the shape of the gums. The denture is sent to the lab and the impression material is replaced with pink, hard acrylic in exactly the same shape as the original impression material. When returned, the denture now conforms to the contours of your mouth, providing a snug, comfortable fit.
