What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

When we talk about cosmetic dentistry, we refer to treatments that enhance the appearance of your teeth, gums, or bite. Whether you need to repair a damaged tooth or are seeking a way to improve your smile, there is a cosmetic service for you. Our team tailors our treatments to your unique dental needs and will discuss the options available to you, so you can make the best decisions for your well-being.

Cosmetic dentistry doesn’t merely improve your smile’s aesthetics. By restoring damaged teeth with natural-looking restorations, you lessen the risk of future dental problems down the road.

Teeth Whitening to Brighten Your Smile

senior woman with bright smileIt is entirely normal for your teeth to become stained over time. Popular foods and beverages such as dark berries, coffee, red wine, tomato sauce, and soda can cause staining, as can natural aging. To counter this, we offer teeth whitening to brighten your smile efficiently.

We offer Zoom® whitening in-office and take-home treatments with a lifetime membership plan for our new patients! You can elect to receive a quick and effective treatment in our office or use custom-fitted bleaching trays in the comfort of your own home. You pay a one-time fee for your initial treatment, and we will provide you with bleaching trays and gel at your regular six-month visits. This way, you can periodically touch up your teeth and keep your smile shining!

Veneers to Correct Minor Imperfections

If you are looking to fix teeth that are chipped, worn, or discolored, veneers may be the appropriate dental option for you. Veneers consist of thin porcelain shells bonded to the surface of your teeth to change their color or enhance their shape. They are particularly useful for altering dark enamel that cannot be treated with teeth whitening.

Should you choose to receive veneers, our team will examine your mouth and take x-rays to determine the right size and placement. We gently buff your teeth as needed to ensure that the veneers will fit properly, and bond them into place with dental cement. We offer porcelain or composite veneers to match your teeth as closely as possible.

Crowns to Protect Vulnerable Teeth

Our cosmetic crowns match the natural color of your teeth as closely as possible and will be made in a trusted dental lab in about two weeks. While you wait for your custom restoration, we will provide you with a temporary crown that will protect your tooth in the meantime.

Invisalign® to Straighten Your Teeth

This cosmetic treatment can correct minor alignment issues with your teeth. If you have a slight overbite, underbite, or other alignment problem, Invisalign may be the treatment for you.

Traditional braces shift your teeth using wires wrapped through brackets on your teeth to create tension. This tension gradually moves your teeth into an ideal position over time. With Invisalign, you will wear a series of clear plastic aligners that are molded to fit your teeth. The aligners exert gentle pressure on your teeth, moving them correctly into place.

With Invisalign, you will not need to make any substantial changes to your lifestyle. Your aligners may not even be clearly visible to others when they are in. You can still enjoy all your favorite drinks and foods by taking your aligners out when drinking or eating. With Invisalign, you improve your smile with minimal disruptions to your daily routine.

What If I Am Missing Teeth?

In the case that you’re missing teeth, we offer dental restorations to fill the gaps, including:

  • Bridges consist of dental crowns and replacement teeth (pontics). Bridges replace multiple missing teeth and use your healthy teeth for support. Your new bridge will match your natural teeth as closely as possible and restore your smile’s aesthetics and function.
  • Partial dentures allow us to replace substantial gaps in your smile. Your partial dentures use your healthy teeth for support. This not only keeps your dentures stable, but also keeps your natural teeth from shifting. Full dentures allow us to replace a full arch of teeth and use suction or adhesive to stay in place.
  • Implant-Supported Restorations can efficiently fill in your smile. We work with your dental specialist for these procedures. After surgical placement of your dental implant posts, we can create your custom crown, bridge, or denture. If you need a single replacement tooth, an implant crown can fill the gap in your smile. Implant bridges allow us to smoothly replace multiple missing teeth, while implant dentures can restore an entire arch with teeth that look and feel natural.
